Being inspired by the past...
A well-built structure can last hundreds and maybe thousands of years. As tourists we can witness the
grandeur of the pyramids of Giza, the Pantheon, or the splendid Second Temple of Hera at Paestum.
The modern visitor to these sites becomes inspired with various emotions.
We wonder who built them? Why did they build them? And how did they build these edifices?

We imagine the centuries that have passed. And we wonder what were the lives like of the people who
used or lived near these places. “What were their thoughts about it?” or “Did they even give a thought to
the obvious beauty of these temples and tombs?”
We may not be able to build a pyramid, a temple or some other gorgeous antique building in our own
garden. If we visit them, it is likely to be for a few fleeting hours or days: the experience preserved in our
memory and in some photographs. However, with the choice of a stunning scene from antiquity,
recreated on tiles that we apply to the walls of our living room, bedroom, home office, or children’s
room, we can be inspired daily in the sanctuary of our own home.
